Venice

I went to check out Venice beach and the canals to catch the sunset. The canals are definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for a nice walk. It’s all these million dollar homes built right on the canals, and you’re basically walking through everyones yards. Venice Beach is a unique place. There really is no other place like it. It reminds me of a Key West meets 90’s skate park meets Times Square meets circus. You definitely have to make sure you hit the beach for sunset, because those west coast sunsets are on a whole different level.

Griffith Observatory

I found my new favorite place in all of LA! Griffith Observatory! I’ve gone a couple of times now for different photography sessions, and each time I take a different way to get up there. It’s at the top of Griffith Park, and you can drive up, but parking as awful at the top. There is a place to park closer to the middle, and then you can wait in line and take a bus up there. But during the busy times, the wait for the bus line is insane too. I’ve found that if you want to hike up the scenic route, you can park at the bottom of Griffith Park, and take a trail up to the top. This way I can bring my dog up the trail with me, and there’s always plenty of parking at the trailhead. (Plus hiking up makes the top even sweeter.) That particular hiking trail is called Ferndell to the West Observatory Loop Trail. Without a doubt I recommend going up there during the sunset on a less smoggy day. You can see all of Downtown LA and Hollywood from there, and on a clear day, all the way to Catalina Island!

Adoption Day!

We did it! We’re officially parents! We got adopted….. a new puppy!

Josie is a 2 year old pocket sized boxer girl that we named after our favorite pizza place in Orlando, Josie’s Pizza & Wings. I highly recommend that pizza place, I have yet to find a one that has wings as good as them. Therefore, they are worthy of naming our new dog after them! We made an appointment at LA Boxer Rescue, and she was the one that we came home with. We walked a couple of different dogs, and when they brought her out to us, we just knew she was the one worthy of sleeping in our bed.

LA Boxer Rescue is a non-profit rescue funded by donations and volunteers. Use the link below to check out all the available dogs at LA Boxer Rescue, or to just make a donation.

The 2019 California Superbloom

They tried to bury us. They didn’t know we were seeds.

It’s here! The most beautiful time of year! Poppy season in California! We had so much more rain than normal in California this past winter, that something called the Superbloom happened. Basically there was so much more rain than normal that the desert exploded with wildflowers, and in California, that means poppies! This phenomenon hasn’t happened in years, and I’m so pumped that I got to see it. I woke up at 3 am and drove from LA to Lake Elsinore. When I got there, there were so many cars that a line formed on the highway just to get off the exit and park. People came in droves to see this, and it’s no wonder why. It literally looked like the mountains were on fire when you were driving by… or covered in cheetos.

Hollywood Sign Hike

Trying out some new hikes around LA! This one is the Runyon Canyon trail that leads up to the Hollywood Sign. It’s a longer trail that is extremely crowded with instagram influencers, but it is definitely one trail that must be done if you’re in the area! There are also a couple of different ways to get to the sign if you would rather go through Wisdom Tree trail, or you can go up the back way north of Griffith Park.

Huntington Library

Took a trip to the Huntington Library, Art Collection, and Botanical Gardens in Pasadena. Went a little ham with photography in the Desert and Japanese garden sections!

How to Train your Dragon 3

How to Train Your Dragon 3 is officially released and I’ve never been more proud to work at DreamWorks Animation, than I am during the release of this movie! It is a phenomenal and beautiful film. Anyone who knows me knows that the dragons universe is my favorite franchise, and is the reason that Dreamworks is my dream studio. I feel like I grew up with the characters, and I’m pretty sure Toothless is my rabbit. Congrats to of all my coworkers who made this beauty! Everyone needs to go see it! Even if you haven’t seen the first two.

Moving to DreamWorks Animation!

I am so beyond thrilled to say that I will officially be transferring to my dream movie studio, DreamWorks Animation, to begin work on the Croods 2 film with the character department!!! The Bell family will officially be moving to Los Angeles!! I’m happy I get to stay within the Universal family. It has been years in the making, and I’ve never worked this hard on anything in my entire life. Animation is what sets my soul on fire, and I am so proud to finally get there now.

To say that Universal Studios has given me everything is an understatement. They hired me for my first job ever, and I spent 7 years with Harry Potter. I met my husband there, and I’ve made so many great friends who mean the world to me. During those 7 years I finished my first animated short film at UCF, and ended up working some pretty amazing production gigs on the side. But in between jobs I would always come back that place I called home.

Two and a half years ago, I joined the Universal Creative design team helping to develop the new Universal Studios theme park in Beijing China. I worked alongside so many talented artists and engineers who inspire you to be the best you every day. I’ve grown and learned so much within this company, and I’ve never once taken it all for granted. I’m sad I won’t be able to see any of my parks get built, but you can bet I’ll be there waiting on opening day!

I will cherish all of the memories I made in Orlando over the past 28 years. Florida is my home and I will miss it dearly. Cheers to all the support I’ve gotten over the years, and to everyone who stayed by my side constantly bringing me up during my heartbreaks of rejection, and times I’ve wanted to give up. It’s going to be terrifying moving away from all of the people I love, but I’ve never been more excited to start this next chapter of my life. It’s going to be a heck of a ride, and I can’t wait to have my family by my side. Look for me in the movie credits in 2020! 💕

Pacific Northwest

I got to go back to the Pacific Northwest this month, and it was the most amazing experience! I've never been to Washington or Oregon, and it was perfect. It's my goal now to go back there, and hit all the national parks that I didn't get to go to this time around due to time. But here's just a taste of everything we got to do! It was jam packed and full of travel days, but definitely worth it all. =]

Placencia Belize!

I got to go to Belize for vacation! So of course I brought my drone. =] It was such a beautiful country, and it was even prettier by air! If that's even possible. On the first day we took a boat to Laughing Bird Caye, which is an island surrounded by protected coral reef. We went snorkeling there, and had lunch. Here are some photos of that day.

Lake Weekend 2018

Every year a big group of us head out to the Lake House in Fort McCoy Florida. I figured this weekend would be the perfect chance to test it out my new DJI Spark! I was terrified to go too high for my first run, but I'll max out the distance eventually. Here's what I came up with from over the weekend!

Hand Painted Wedding Favors!

Hello friends! I'm so excited to say that I am now officially a Bell! We wanted to make our wedding extra DIY, and I'm posting a few of our wedding favors. I hand painted along with my parents and sister, about 200 mini canvases for each guest to take home. We figured the normal stuff would just get left behind, or thrown out, so we wanted to do something special. They were definitely a hit! Here's a few that I did, that our photographer LH-Photography got some great shots of!

Great Sand Dunes National Park

I recently got to go on a trip back to Colorado. It was pretty amazing, because we stopped at Sand Dunes National Park, which I never even knew this place existed before. Its these colossal sand dunes in the middle of Colorado, at the base of a mountain range. When you're there, you feel so small, and that you're not even in America anymore, but the Sahara instead.

Euro Trip!

I survived my first backpacking Euro trip this year! I ended up having to cut it short and ditch a few countries due to the new job, but I am so incredibly grateful for all that I did get to see and experience! We ended up staying in London, Eastbourne, and Paris, and I wouldn't have changed that trip for the world! I got to see the louvre, all the typical tourist attractions, and pretty much ate at every corner cafe I could find.

Universal Creative

I'm officially a part of the Universal Creative Team!!!!!

And now that it's all official and the paperwork has been signed, I am officially a Document Control Coordinator for Universal Creative!!!! A lot of the stuff about the new park in Beijing is still top secret, so I'll just leave it at this. They are building a new Universal theme park in Beijing, and I'm apart of the team!! It's so amazing getting to be in such a large creative environment, and surrounded by people who love their jobs. I'm most excited for all the decorating I am going to do of my cubicle space! The park isn't set to open for another few years, so I'll be on this new project for quite a while. I am hanging up my freelance pants for now, and entering the wold of constant design!
