Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara, the city of broken hearts.

This is such a beautiful town where everything has an old Spanish influence to it. Even in the design of the window shutters. I loved the energy of this place so much. You can spend hours here walking around anywhere and finding so many small moments that create joy. You know those moments when you see a blooming flower thriving in concrete. Or the sun peeking out from behind some trees that sway in the wind, casting a shadow dancing along the sidewalk. Or the moments where a couple walks by and you can just tell from their energy that they are radiating unconditional love to the world. And then when you realize it’s finally time to leave, you’re sent home with a broken heart because you’re no longer surrounded by such beauty.

Santa Barbara County Court House

I took a photography trip up to Santa Barbara, and as you can see I’m obviously obsessed with the court house. If I ever had to elope, it would 95% be at this specific court house. Occupying an entire block, the court house was completed in 1929 and is the prime example of Santa Barbaras adoption of Spanish Colonial as its civic style.

Mission Santa Barbara

In 1786 this mission was founded. Its name comes from the legend that a girl whose name was Santa Barbara was beheaded by her father for following the Christian faith. What a way to go.

Stearns Wharf

The longest deep water pier between Los Angeles and San Francisco., that you can still drive on today. It’s Californias oldest working wharf and is filled with restaurants and shops and so many pelican friends. It was completed in 1872 and served the passage and freight shipping needs of Californias south coast.
